If a ceasefire agreement is reached, Ukraine's European allies are considering easing sanctions on Russia.
BlockBeats News, August 13th, according to a source close to the President of the European Commission, Ukraine's allies are considering a gradual easing of sanctions against Russia if a comprehensive ceasefire agreement can be reached.
The source added that if there is a violation of the agreement, sanctions will be reimposed. They hope to immediately reach a 15-day ceasefire agreement (during which sanctions will remain in effect), after which the conflict in Ukraine can be more systematically paused.
In addition, a source from the Italian government stated that they will push for European involvement in Trump's discussion with Putin later today via a video call concerning him and the Ukraine issue. An Italian diplomat explained, "He has been constantly asking European countries to increase military spending, so we must be part of these decisions." The source added that during the call, Italy will emphasize the necessity of clear military, economic, and political support for Ukraine. (BlockBeats)
